7 Ways Minut Hosts and Property Managers Use Zapier

Zapier is a service that makes connecting different web applications a breeze. It does not require any coding knowledge and is integrated with more than 5,000 apps (Minut included 🎉).

Our integration with Zapier enables hosts and property managers to seamlessly integrate Minut into their existing processes. That’s what makes it so popular with companies - large and small alike - that want their Minut experience to go beyond monitoring. Here are a few examples.

1. Customize email notifications

All Minut customers can opt to receive emails when Minut detects noise. This is in addition to mobile app notifications. They’re automated in a way that should suit most hosts and PMs, but some of our customers choose to adjust them to their particular needs.

Some property managers, for example, would like to also get an email when Minut detects alarm sound or movement. With Zapier, they can make that happen.

2. Keep track of temperature

With rising energy prices, you’re probably keeping a close eye on energy use in your properties. However, if you have a variety of smart thermostat systems across your portfolio (which is quite common), checking them one by one can become a tedious task.

You can avoid it by letting Minut and Zapier keep you updated on the temperature in your properties. Simply use our temperature triggers to get an email, text or Slack message when the temperature rises above or drops below your threshold.

3. Make a note in your PMS

Minut integrates with over 20 property management systems (and the list keeps on growing!). However, if your PMS is not on the list, or if you want a more custom integration you might just get lucky with Zapier.

Some examples include making a note in Hostaway or updating the booking in BookingSync whenever Minut detects noise. You could also create a property in MyVR, or a task in Zeevou or Mews when the temperature goes above or below your threshold.

Other property management systems on Zapier include Uplisting, Lodgify, Cloudbeds, Guesty, Hostfully, and Octorate. One thing to note is that they don’t offer any actions, but they do support plenty of triggers.

4. Connect to Slack

Slack is one of the most popular team organization tools out there, and it can be easily connected to Minut via Zapier. By linking the two accounts, property managers can receive a Slack message whenever the Minut sensor is moved from its magnetic plate, motion is detected, or there’s loud noise in the property - depending on how they set it up. We’ve recently added temperature triggers too, so you can also know when it rises above or falls below your threshold.

5. Text your team

Minut’s Guest Connect feature can send an SMS to guests when noise is detected. It can give the guests an automated phone call as well.

With Zapier, you can make sure that your team also gets text messages whenever something needs to be brought to their attention - whether it’s the fire alarm going off or Minut being tampered with.

6. Sync data with Google Spreadsheets

In the Minut apps, it’s easy to reference historical noise data using the noise monitoring graph. If you prefer spreadsheets to graphs however, you can use Zapier to send the data straight to a Google spreadsheet.

7. Send someone to check on your rental

Temperature below your threshold? Unexpected movement? It might be good to get it checked. With Zapier, you can automatically create a task in Todoist, Asana, ClickUp or Trello (among other project management apps) whenever Minut detects a temperature drop or alarm going off. This way, one of your team members on the ground can easily pick up on the task and stop by your rental to make sure everything is alright.
